flying with hunters. somali taxi drivers. small dogs. government officials. spurse types. we are back from Nunavut. A very successful trip. a lot of research accomplished. linkages and conversations begun. and many possible futures and collaborations opening up. here are to more sets of images: spaces, rocks.

meta incognita peninsula

On friday morning we travelled out by boat to the Meta Incognita Peninsula. We hiked in and explored the high ridges and cold river crossings. We sited a few foxes, hares and ptarmigan, plus many more tracks -- wolves and little creatures. Ravens high in the sky. Here is a link to some images (link). The documentation and research will be a key part of the Deeptime Rapidtime project.

Today we spent the morning at the museum looking at the archive of clothing (see link). documenting and diagramming patterns. Then we spent the afternoon with the artist Matthew Nuqingaq. In the evening we did a sound recording and continued working on a document of 100 houses (see link).

We bought a few supplies for a hike -- a kettle and “bear bangers” (a type of noise maker flare). Starting to develop a way of seeing. Light snow this evening. Temperature hovering around freezing.
